Legal Associate Manager – Corporate Legal (In-House)
A global organisation is seeking a Corporate Legal Associate Manager to join its legal team in Japan. This role offers the opportunity to work across a wide range of legal areas, supporting both domestic and international operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal support and strategic guidance to business units and internal legal teams
- Draft, review, and negotiate various legal documents and commercial agreements (NDAs, MSAs, outsourcing agreements, teaming agreements, SOWs, amendments, settlements, etc.)
- Support contract negotiations, compliance, and regulatory matters
- Contribute to corporate governance and Board-related legal issues
- Assist with real estate matters and property management
- Provide legal support in cybersecurity, data protection, and financial regulations
- Handle disputes, litigation, and investigations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure legal alignment across business operations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in law or a related field (advanced degree preferred)
- Minimum 6 years of relevant legal experience, including at least 2 years in a similar role
- Strong background in corporate legal matters, contract negotiation, and regulatory compliance
- Certifications such as Certified Corporate Counsel (CCC) or Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP) are a plus.
- Ability to work independently and serve as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders
