Overview:
A leading global travel service provider is seeking a Legal Counsel to join its regional legal team in Japan. This role supports the company’s expanding cross-border and domestic operations, particularly in travel booking and sourcing services.

You will be the sole legal representative in Japan, responsible for a wide range of legal matters including compliance, consumer protection, data privacy, and dispute resolution. The position requires strong legal expertise, autonomy, and high-level English proficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide legal support for Japanese operations, including:
Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts in Japanese
Managing dispute resolution and customer complaint issues
Supporting compliance assessments for the Japanese website
Advising on labour law matters for local employees
Deliver timely internal legal consultation and document review
Assist in standardising business procedures and providing legal training to staff

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Law from a reputable Japanese university
Strong command of both Japanese and English
Ability to research and interpret Japanese laws and regulations
Experience in a top-tier law firm or multinational company preferred
