Your new role

• Act as the primary legal contact for Japan and APAC‑related matters
• Provide legal advice across business lines including asset servicing, investment management, and financial products
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements including client, vendor, and internal documentation.
• Advise on Japanese regulatory and legislative developments impacting the business
• Support corporate governance matters, including board activities and internal policies
• Manage relationships with external counsel and oversee legal spending and deliverables
• Partner with business, compliance, and risk teams to support strategic initiatives and ensure regulatory alignment.
  
  

What you'll need to succeed

• 7–10 years of legal experience (law firm and/or in‑house)
• Strong knowledge of Japanese legal and regulatory frameworks, particularly within financial services
• Experience in asset management, custody, banking, or related industries preferred
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and stakeholder‑management skills
• Native‑level Japanese and business‑level English
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and operate in a fast‑paced, international environment
