This role is a member of the Payments group in Global Blue. We are providing technology to Acquirers, to enhance their payment solutions for retailers and hotels, and improve the final consumer payment journey. Global Blue Payments products are

  • FX Solutions (Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC), Multi Currency Pricing (MCP)
  • Payment Gateway (Hotel & Retail gateway, eCommerce gateway, Tokenization)
  • Financial Processing (White Label Acquiring, Third party processing)

As a team member of Merchant Implementation & Support Team – Asia Pacific in Global Blue Payments, to drive the projects/implementation to complete and deliver payment service to Japanese customer, to communicate with internal/external teams in terms of technical or operational matters.


Typical activities expected are:

  • Gather customer requirements for implementation, such as hotels, vendors and local card acquirer.
  • Assist merchants to understand requirement and local habit of payment integration in Japan
  • Assist internal sales and product teams with implementation knowledge
  • Assist to manage and solve implementation/migration problems
  • Assist to Manage external project with the acquirers, merchants and/or partners

Responsibilities
  • Assist Implementation Manager in projects relating to Japan market
  • Create/update documents to provide technical input and guidance for internal and external stakeholders
  • Communicate with internal support teams in relation to implementation and/or technical issue
  • Explain and/or present our service to the customer or partners
  • Manage with internal teams to keep implementation schedule
  • Attend client-facing meetings or onsite implementation as needed
  • Expected external stakeholders are acquirers, payment service providers, payment terminal vendors, service/product providers for hotel & retail merchants (PMS, POS, KIOSK, online/mobile service, etc.)
  • Communication internal 60% and external 40%

Qualifications and education requirements
Must have:
  • Minimum 2 to 3 years in Hotel IT experience
  • Strong communication skills Japanese (Fluent), and English Business Level with the ability to communicate to customers/partners and with colleagues in a multicultural environment
  • Customer service experience in a hospitality environment.
  • Understanding of Hotel IT systems, such as Opera, Toshiba, TAB PMS, Simphony, Shiji etc.

Nice to have:
  • Experience in system/software implementation or requirement documents
  • Experience in payments is a great plus
  • Willingness to learn continuously
  • Advanced skills in MS PowerPoint, Word and Excel
  • System/software development project or IT service (B2B) as a bonus.
