HR generalist for Japanese businesses.
The HR Generalist - Japan plays a key role in executing day-to-day HR operations and supporting a smooth employee experience across all stages of the employee lifecycle.
This role is responsible for payroll, recruiting coordination, onboarding, offboarding, HR data management, and ensuring compliance with local employment laws and company policies.
Reporting to the HR Business Partner, Japan, the HR Generalist also provides administrative support for HR initiatives and works closely with both regional and global HR teams to ensure operational excellence.
What you'll need to succeed
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an HR generalist or HR operations role in Japan.
- Strong understanding of Japan’s labour laws and HR compliance requirements.
- Experience in payroll processing, recruiting coordination, and employee administration.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office tools.
- Fluent in Japanese and business-level English.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and highly organised with the ability to work independently.
