• Our client is # a Japan-headquartered biopharma firm listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Prime Market and has global operations with over 400 employees and annual revenues exceeding $200M.
• Headquartered in central Tokyo, they are looking for a Head of Finance and Reporting to lead reporting & disclosure excellence and change management.
• This role is central to the company’s financial governance and investor relations.

Your new role

• As Head of Finance & Reporting, you will lead an experienced team of five and report to the Chief Accounting Office based in the UK.

• You will oversee financial reporting across all group entities, ensuring compliance with IFRS, JGAAP, JSOX, and tax regulations.
• Lead the preparation of disclosure and investor relations materials, including budgeting and cash flow management.#
• Drive change management and post-merger integration (PMI) initiatives.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders, including the CFO, CEO, and Finance Controller.

What you'll need to succeed

• Track record in financial reporting, financial compliance, disclosure and investor relations.

• Strong IFRS understanding, including JGAAP conversion and registering complex assets

• Change Management record e.g. System implementation, PMI, is desired.

• People management experience at manager level.

• Fluent Japanese and business English (direct manager is a native English speaker, negotiation and explanation needed.

• Systems experience in SAP Concur and NetSuite is a benefit.
