Your new role
- Lead and oversee the Japan legal function, ensuring effective support across business and corporate functions.
- Provide legal guidance on contracts, corporate transactions, business development activities, and strategic partnerships.
- Support M&A, licensing, investments, financing, and alliance-related matters in collaboration with global stakeholders.
- Manage legal operations, policies, governance frameworks, and coordination with external counsel and specialists.
- Partner closely with business leaders to identify legal risks and provide practical, commercially focused solutions.
What you'll need to succeed
- 5+ years of in-house legal experience, or 3+ years of legal experience as a qualified lawyer.
- Experience supporting corporate transactions including M&A, financing, business development, or commercial agreements.
- Strong contract drafting, review, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Business-level Japanese and English communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with global legal teams and external advisors.
