About the Role
A leading international bank is hiring an Assistant Manager to join its Banking Operations & Credit Services team in Japan.
This role supports corporate banking operations and credit services, ensuring accurate and efficient processing across deposit accounts and lending facilities. You will play a key role in maintaining operational quality, managing risk, and supporting process improvements while working closely with internal stakeholders and offshore teams.
Candidates with less experience may be considered for an Analyst-level position.

Key Responsibilities
Operations & Service Delivery
  • Support daily banking operations for corporate clients, including account opening, servicing, and closure
  • Handle credit services operations such as loan processing, facility management, and security administration
  • Support reporting and selected legacy private banking operations
  • Ensure operations are accurate, timely, and compliant with internal standards
Risk, Control & Quality Management
  • Monitor operational risk and ensure strong internal controls
  • Support audits, inspections, and compliance reviews
  • Report incidents and escalate issues to management in a timely manner
  • Ensure accurate management information and reporting
Process Improvement & Projects
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through process streamlining and automation
  • Participate in projects as a process lead
  • Support vendor and offshore team management
Requirements
  • 5–10 years of overall work experience
  • 3–5 years of banking operations experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of banking operations or credit processes
  • Ability to manage priorities in a fast-changing environment
  • Proactive mindset with leadership potential and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Business-level Japanese and English
