Your new role
Requirements:
- Lead API integration testing activities, including designing and executing test plans, test cases, and regression tests for RESTful services.
- Conduct REST API validation using Postman, including functional, integration, performance, and negative testing.
- Perform troubleshooting and log analysis in Splunk to identify root causes of integration issues.
- Collaborate with external partners and internal development teams to resolve API-related problems and support the integration lifecycle.
- Document defects, API behavior findings, and resolution steps clearly and systematically in issue-tracking systems.
- Ensure API authentication flows comply with OAuth2 (Client Credentials) and assist partners in implementing authentication correctly.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement) and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Maintain clear testing documentation, including integration guides, test reports, and quality checklists.
What you'll need to succeed
Skills
- Deep understanding of
REST APIs, HTTP methods, and JSON structures.
- Hands-on experience with
Postman, including scripting and advanced testing features.
- Proficiency in Splunk log search, dashboards, and troubleshooting workflows.
- Working knowledge of
OAuth2 Client Credential Flow.
- Ability to design test plans, test cases, and defect reports.
- Familiarity with API specifications (OpenAPI/Swagger).
- Good knowledge of SQL
- Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum or Kanban).
- Fluent communication in
Japanese and English (written and spoken).
- Optional but beneficial: API automation experience (REST Assured, Cypress, Postman scripts), CI/CD familiarity.
Qualifications and education requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in software QA, API testing, or similar technical quality assurance roles.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Proven proficiency in API testing tools, troubleshooting workflows, and integration collaboration.
- Experience with authentication frameworks and modern API integration patterns.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and drive issues to resolution.
- Optional but advantageous: ISTQB certification, experience with automated API testing frameworks, exposure to enterprise‑level integrations.
- Business-level bilingual communication skills in Japanese and English
