The Senior Product Sales Manager is responsible for directing and supporting collaborative sales efforts to grow one or more assigned product lines by creating strong partnerships with field sales teams and Channel partners. The SPSM is responsible for achieving a direct sales quota in that product line, as well as supporting overall product-line success, all within an overlay structure.
The successful Senior Product Sales Manager will ensure the profitability and continued growth of a specific set of products for the organization by creating strong partnerships with field sales teams and Channel partners. They are excellent presenters who are adept at identifying customer needs and developing effective value propositions.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform product sales activities for new/renewal business for one or more assigned product lines to achieve or exceed assigned product and service revenue objectives.
- Sell products/services through telephone as well as face-to-face contact.
- Partner with field and enterprise sales within the organization and Channel partners to collaboratively develop and execute strategies that drive product and service revenue as part of an overall account strategy.
- Uncover opportunities in current and new accounts for specific products or solutions and hand them over to the direct sales team.
- Facilitate communication with the sales and technical team regarding updates on product capabilities, success stories, and winning strategies.
- Establish, develop, and maintain business relationships with current and prospective customers to generate new business for the organization’s products and services.
- Participate in industry shows and conventions.
- Create advanced solution presentations to match identified customer needs using the organization's products and services. Identify advantages and position the organization's products and services as superior to competitive offerings.
- Coordinate and organize technical support for demos, PoCs, support of evaluation, training, etc.
- Work with team members to develop clear and effective written proposals, quotations, and value propositions for current and prospective customers.
- Provide client feedback to product development and marketing staff.
- Minimum Education/Certification
Requirements and Experience:\
- Education & Years of Experience: Bachelor’s degree in technical, engineering, business, or related field with 4+ years of sales or consulting experience in selling engineering/technology applications with a proven track record of success OR 6+ years of sales or consulting experience in selling engineering/technology applications with a proven track record of success.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with several teams (technical support, development, marketing, product management, etc.) and hierarchies within the organization.
- Works independently with limited managerial guidance.
- Knowledge and understanding of the product market position.
- Knowledge of sales fundamentals.
- Ability to foster collaboration and coordination with personnel distributed globally.
- Aptitude for problem-solving; ability to determine appropriate solutions for customers.
- Fluent in English and in the local language of the territory.
- Travel: up to 50%.
