Your new role

This position plays a crucial role in contributing to the Japan region’s program in collaboration with a major Japanese mobile phone company, the business department, and the legal team. Despite being a foreign company, it values the independence of its business in Japan and can thrive in a business field with a large customer base and a homely corporate culture. The main duties include creating and reviewing contracts (including English contracts), creating contract templates, creating and revising internal regulations, participating in internal projects, legal work such as legal research, creating internal documents related to the legal department, tasks related to board of directors meetings and general shareholder meetings, compliance related to the Personal Information Protection Law, and internal and external communication related to these tasks.

What you'll need to succeed

The position requires someone with experience in the legal field, particularly in reviewing contracts, including those in English. The candidate should possess necessary IT skills, such as proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. A practical experience of 1 to 3 years in a corporate legal department or a law firm is desirable. Language proficiency in both Japanese and English, especially in reading and writing business documents, is a must. The educational qualification should be at least a bachelor’s degree. Additional skills, licenses, or certificates that are preferred include business-level English speaking ability, study abroad experience, and a qualification to practice law.
