Your new role

You will provide Facilities and Site Operations leadership & expertise in support of the VP and Senior Leadership team in Japan. The Japan operation consists of a country HQ office in Tokyo (where the role is based) and a number of material warehouses throughout the country. Key responsibilities include: site facilities operations, project management, real estate management and managing service provider/vendor. The position is a key member of the Intercontinental, Japan, China and GPS Site Ops Team which manages headquarters, offices, laboratory and material warehouses in 18 countries. Manages 1 direct report + vendors. Reports into Regional Head (non-Japanese speaker) outside Japan.

What you'll need to succeed

• University degree
• Min 6 years experience at senior managerial level
• Knowledge and experience of working within the pharmaceutical, or similarly highly regulated sector (such as finance)
• Managing capital and relocation projects, ensuring EH&S compliance
• Experience of managing facilities at multiple sites
• Experience of working with colleagues in different time zones
• Fluent Japanese and minimum business level English (speaking and written communication)
• Preferred: Qualified Mechanical or Electrical Engineer, Architect or Building Surveyor (B.Eng., B.Sc., M.Sc.) with a minimum of 6 years relevant experience
• Preferred: EHS/HSE qualification and experience
