Your new role
As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will play a key role in managing and evolving infrastructure across both cloud and on-premise environments. You’ll be responsible for deploying automated systems, maintaining high-performance environments, and supporting scalable services. This position involves working with Kubernetes clusters, implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and collaborating with global teams to ensure system reliability and operational excellence. You’ll also contribute to observability, CI/CD pipelines, and documentation, while participating in agile ceremonies and cross-functional initiatives.
As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will play a key role in managing and evolving infrastructure across both cloud and on-premise environments. You’ll be responsible for deploying automated systems, maintaining high-performance environments, and supporting scalable services. This position involves working with Kubernetes clusters, implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and collaborating with global teams to ensure system reliability and operational excellence. You’ll also contribute to observability, CI/CD pipelines, and documentation, while participating in agile ceremonies and cross-functional initiatives.
What you'll need to succeed
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
- 4–10 years of experience in DevOps, system administration, or infrastructure engineering
- Strong Linux administration skills
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (cloud and on-prem)
- Proficiency with Docker and Docker Compose
- Experience with AWS and hybrid cloud setups
- Solid knowledge of Ansible and scripting (Python or Shell)
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions)
- Experience with Terraform or similar IaC tools
- Business-level Japanese and English communication skills
- Residency in the Tokyo area with ability to commute 2–3 times per week
- Willingness to travel internationally on occasion (e.g., to the U.S. or Europe)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with GitOps tools such as ArgoCD
- Certifications in AWS or Kubernetes
- Familiarity with Kafka or ClickHouse
- Understanding of virtualization and networking technologies
