[ Job Description ]
Responsibilities of the senior financial analyst include
- Managing the overall budget cycle for both the Income Statement and Balance Sheet, including communicating targets, setting deadlines, leading review meetings with Japan's senior management, assisting in the preparation of country-wide presentations, and coordinating with numerous outside teams, including Operations Finance and International Retail FP&A.
- Overseeing the biweekly updates to the current forecast, including receiving updates from product line leaders, vetting changes, reviewing with Japan leadership, and communicating changes to International Retail FP&A.
- Working with the senior leadership o develop mid- and long-range models for the future plans
- Leading the financial close review process, including building variances analyses comparing actuals to the most recent forecast
and business plan, highlighting areas of concern, engaging in discussions with the accounting teams, and coordinating
close reviews with International FP&A.
- Performing reviews of competitor businesses and financials.
- Providing day-to-day finance support, including forecasting and controllership, to a variety of teams
including product line finance teams, third party advertising teams, and others as required.
- Building presentation materials for leadership retreats and company All Hands meetings.
- Working on numerous special projects as required.
[ Requirements ]
The successful candidate for this position will possess the following credentials
- A strong background (3-5 years) in finance, consulting, or a related highly-analytic field with a strong history of progressive career growth
- Good understanding of accounting and finance, including the Income Statement and Balance Sheet
- Intense customer focus
- Ability to think both analytically and strategically to go beyond the numbers and think logically about underlying business issues
- Passion for detail and getting it right
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including bilingual fluency (English/Japanese)
- Strong computer skills (Excel power user, familiar with Word, Access, and PowerPoint)
- Experience in working with large data sets or relational databases (including prior experience with Cognos, Essbase, and/or SQL) is highly useful but not required
- BA/BS required, MBA preferred
